I understand there are a lot of questions that go along with
deciding if you should repair or replace you sliding glass door
so I hope this will help a little and if you have a question you
do not see here feel free to call or e-mail us so we can best
answer your question.
Q: How do I know if I should replace my door or fix it.
A: If the door frame and glass are in good condition and the
door just does not roll right it will be more cost effective to
repair the door ( us putting new rollers and a new door with
new rollers are the same except for the cost difference) .
Don't let a door install company tell you the whole door needs
to be replaced just because it will not roll or lock. If the door
frame is bent or you just want the new door look than you
should replace it. We can fix 99% of the doors we come
across and in most cases when we can not fix the door due to
a problem with the door frame or some other unforeseen
problem we usually will not charge you anything as it is not
your fault ( if the job is a long drive we may have to charge a
small service charge 20.00 to 40.00 but that is very rare
usually we have to drive more than 40 miles before we
charge anything for UN fixable doors).
Q: My door rolled fine yesterday now I can't move it.
A: Some times the rollers slip off the track this can be fixed
by lifting the front or back of the door back on to the track lip.
Try to center the door with the lip of the track some times you
have to get on the ground to see the rollers to make sure the
door is on the track lip. If this happens a lot then you may
need a track repair or the rollers are not working as they
should.
Q: I have a small gap at the top or bottom of the door when I
try to close it.
A: usually the front roller or the rear roller needs to be
adjusted up or down to fix this problem. If the door cannot be
adjusted than the roller assemble is bad and needs to be
replaced.
Q: what it the cost difference between repairing a door and
replacing a door.
A: It varies from where you live but most door repairs cost
less than a 1/4% of what a new door will cost to buy and
install. If you call us we can give you a firm price over the
phone we do not show up and charge more unless you add
something from the original quote.
Q: How long does a repair take.
A: It depends on how many doors need to be repaired but an
average repair takes about an hour sometimes two hours. In
all cases we are done the same day unless we have to
special order a part which does not happen very often.
Q: do you replace doors or windows.
A: No we do not all we do is repair sliding glass doors, but we
highly recommend window world of central Florida for price,
quality and professionalism that can't be beat. There address
is 624 Douglas ave suite 1412 Altamonte springs, fl 32714

Please tell them Jeff from southern advantage referred you.
Q: how long do rollers last.
A: thats a hard one to answer because I have repaired doors
that are 20 years old and they just started to go bad and I
have replace rollers on doors that are 2 years old and all the
bearings fell out of the rollers. It depends on the quality of the
rollers and the environment of the door.( covered or
uncovered, pools, salt it the air etc...) If it is a newer set of
doors and the rollers have gone bad we can usually find the
reason why and after we replace them, and give you tips on
how to help them last longer than they originally did.
Q: Are you licenced and insured.

day in age you need to be sure you have the right person for
the job. www.servicemagic.com
