| FAQ Q: How do I know if I should replace my door or fix it. A: If the door frame and glass are in good condition and the door just does not roll right it will be more cost effective to repair the door ( us putting new rollers and a new door with new rollers are the same except for the cost difference) . Don't let a door install company tell you the whole door needs to be replaced just because it will not roll or lock. If the door frame is bent or you just want the new door look than you should replace it. We can fix 99% of the doors we come across and in most cases when we can not fix the door due to a problem with the door frame or some other unforeseen problem we usually will not charge you anything as it is not your fault ( if the job is a long drive we may have to charge a small service charge 20.00 to 40.00 but that is very rare usually we have to drive more than 40 miles before we charge anything for UN fixable doors). Q: what it the cost difference between repairing a door and replacing A: It varies from where you live but most door repairs cost less than a 1/4% of what a new door will cost to buy and install. If you call us we can give you a firm price over the phone we do not show up and charge more unless you add something from the original quote. Q: How long does a repair take. A: It depends on how many doors need to be repaired but an average repair takes about an hour sometimes two hours. In most cases we are done the same day unless we have to special order a part which does not happen very often. Q: how long do rollers last. A: thats a hard one to answer because I have repaired doors that are 20 years old and they just started to go bad and I have replace rollers on doors that are 2 years old and all the bearings fell out of the rollers. It depends on the quality of the rollers and the environment of the door.( covered or uncovered, pools, salt it the air etc...) If it is a newer set of doors and the rollers have gone bad we can usually find the reason why and after we replace them, give you tips on how to help them last longer than they originally did. |
